Our Story
Hi, I’m Kala, one-half of the duo behind Moana Acai. Starting our own business has been something Tim and I always talked about, but it wasn’t until working at a caravan park that the idea really took shape. Watching food trailers roll in during peak season and seeing their success made us think, ‘Why not us?’
Tim had always dreamed of having an ice cream van, and during a trip to Sydney, everything clicked. Acai bowls were everywhere, and we were blown away by how they were served—soft-serve style, stacked in a spiral with incredible toppings. We thought, ‘This would be perfect for Batemans Bay.’
We love the idea of bringing something fresh, healthy, and fun to our community, where acai bowls are still new to most people. For us, Moana Acai isn’t just about bowls—it’s about creating a little slice of tropical joy for everyone to enjoy. 🌴💜
